Precautions for Operating Portable Jib Crane with Wheels

A portable jib crane with wheels, also known as a mobile jib crane, is a lifting machine that uses an electric or manual hoist (chain hoist or wire rope hoist) as the lifting mechanism. Portable jib cranes on wheels offer excellent versatility by being able to transport loads in any direction, provide extra workspace, and be towed by a vehicle to many work locations. The following are precautions for operating a mobile jib crane:

1. The operator should strictly comply with the operating procedures of the equipment, master the performance of lifting equipment, overloading is strictly prohibited.
2. The jib crane must follow the basic principle of "running without lifting weight, lifting weight without running".
3. It is not allowed to use the end stopper as the usual stopping method.
4. Before lifting, the four support devices must be opened and supported on the ground to ensure safety.
5. When lifting heavy objects, try to avoid multiple pointing operations of the electric hoist.
6. The chain or wire rope for lifting heavy objects must be strong enough, firm and reliable, the sharp corners should be padded when lifting heavy objects, and the rope set on the hook must be placed in the center of the hook to prevent it from slipping off.
7. The lifting and moving of heavy objects should be carried out in vertical condition, prohibit diagonal pulling, and not allowed to rotate the lifting frame beam for dragging or impact.
8. When the accident occurs due to malfunctioning of lifting equipment, the power supply should be cut off immediately.
9. When lifting heavy objects, the lower end of the crane is forbidden to pass by people and pedestrians.
10. When resting after work, heavy objects should not be suspended in the air and the power supply should be turned off in time.

Portable Jib Crane Maintenance

1. Every six months, the rotating parts need to add lubricant.
2. According to the situation after use, regularly brush away the accumulation on the crossbeam of the rotating parts (traveling track surface). Paint once a year for open-air use and once a year for indoor use to prevent rust and corrosion and affect strength.
