Global Port Engineering & Services Sdn Bhd (GPES) is a famous company in port machinery maintenance and parts replacement. Established with a strong operational presence across Southeast Asia, GPES operates branches in Johor Bahru (JB) and Penang in Malaysia, as well as in Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand. Their Singapore branch handles projects in Gabon and Cameroon, while their Thailand branch specializes in port machinery maintenance. GPES has a history of sourcing high-quality components for port machinery, including trolley wheels, bearings, suspension cables, and other crane accessories.
Yuantai and GPES began their partnership in 2014, with additional projects in 2015 and 2019. The primary focus of these collaborations was the supply of crane components such as wheels, bearings, and other accessories for port machinery.
However, during an interim period, GPES opted to source products from a Taiwanese supplier due to the competitive advantage offered by NT dollar payments and lower pricing. Despite this, the client acknowledged the superior quality of Yuantai products, citing exchange rate fluctuations as a primary factor for the temporary shift.
For the current project, GPES required eight 3-ton single-girder bridge cranes with a span of 26 meters. The project was located in Thailand, emphasizing the importance of cost-efficiency and logistical feasibility. To minimize shipping costs, GPES specified that the cranes should exclude the main girders.
Yuantai's engineering team initially recommended the LD general-purpose single-girder bridge crane. This cost-effective option met GPES's preliminary requirements for a lightweight, reliable solution.
Upon detailed discussions and analysis of factory drawings and specific technical requirements, it became evident that GPES required a more advanced solution. Therefore, our engineers revised the plan to a 3-ton HD single-girder bridge crane, featuring the SZW electric hoist for improved efficiency and durability.
The crane design was tailored to meet GPES's operational and logistical constraints.
The European-style single-girder bridge crane consists of a bridge frame, trolleys at both ends and a hoist. Through advanced optimization design, the most reasonable structure is adopted from hoist, end beam to main beam. The self-weight is lighter than traditional cranes, and the wheel pressure is also smaller. This means fewer and smaller steel structures are required for warehouses and workshops, which ultimately saves the construction cost of a new workshop.
Crane is not the all of our job.The most suitable solution is our passion. With every project we undertake, we set the bar high and provide the best solution for the clients and industries.
