Initial Interaction and Challenges

On September 16, 2021, Yuantai received an inquiry from an Indian steel mill for integrated electrical crane components. The client, an established player in the steel industry, had prior experience sourcing overhead cranes from other countries but had never worked with Chinese suppliers. Unfortunately, during this first interaction, Yuantai's electrical components were incompatible with the client's existing crane setup, and the client opted not to proceed with the purchase.

Exploring Opportunities

Despite the initial setback, Yuantai maintained proactive communication with the client. The sales team shared insights about the company's crane manufacturing capabilities and asked if the client had any plans to expand their crane inventory. This engagement kept Yuantai on the client's radar for future opportunities.

In 2022, the client approached Yuantai again, signaling plans to expand their factory with a new workshop. They required a double girder overhead crane and a 6-ton single-girder overhead crane tailored to their specific metallurgical operating environment.

Customized Crane Design and Collaboration

Understanding the Client's Needs

The new workshop presented unique challenges, particularly limited vertical clearance between the workshop rails and the structure's lowest point. This constraint demanded a customized crane design that could maximize functionality within the available space.

Engineering the Solution

1. Double-Girder Overhead Crane (15 Ton):

   • Yuantai engineers designed a bespoke QDY ladle overhead crane to handle the metallurgical demands.
   • Features included lightweight construction, heat-resistant materials, and a centralized lubrication system for improved reliability and reduced maintenance.

2. Single-Girder Overhead Crane (6 Ton):

   • A custom solution was offered without the matching main girder to reduce costs.
   • The design utilized a compact structure to ensure compatibility with the workshop's spatial constraints.

Collaborative Efforts

The design process involved close collaboration between the client's technical team and Yuantai's engineers. By July 2022, all crane specifications, including accessory requirements, were finalized. This collaborative approach ensured the solutions met the client's operational and budgetary goals.

Manufacturing and Delivery

The order for the two cranes was confirmed in August 2022. Yuantai promptly began production to align with the client's shipment timeline. The manufacturing process adhered to rigorous quality standards, ensuring the cranes' durability and performance.
