What is the Role of Crane Track?

Crane track is the foundation of crane operation, and its installation and maintenance are crucial to the quality of crane operation. Crane tracks are divided into different types, such as single-edge and double-edge crane wheels, cast and forged crane wheels, etc. According to the tread content, crane wheels can be divided into three types: cylindrical, conical and conical drum. Cylindrical wheels are mainly used as driven wheels, but can also be used as driving wheels. Conical wheels are used as driving wheels for crane trolleys.

In the installation of crane track, need to pay attention to some technical requirements, such as the installation of the track to give full consideration to the geology of the site use environment and its load-bearing capacity, while the track should have a good grounding line to ensure the safety of electricity. In addition, also need to pay attention to the actual centerline of the track and the deviation of the geometric centerline of the track, the longitudinal slope of the track, the joints of the two tracks lateral misalignment and height difference, etc.

Technical Requirements for Crane Track Installation

1. Small and medium-sized crane trolley using P-type railroad rails, large crane trolley or large car using QU-type crane special rails or square rails.
2. Before installation of rails, bolts, cleats, etc. for inspection, such as cracks corrosion or out of specification should be replaced immediately. To allow the repair of the rail surface and side, wear defects should not exceed 3mm of the rail, the repair is completed before use.
3. Pads and track and crane main beam should be in close contact, no more than 20 pads per level, length greater than 100mm, width wider than the bottom of the track 10 ~ 20mm, two groups of pads spacing no greater than 200mm; pads and steel crane main beam firmly welded, pads and track section of the actual contact area is not less than 60% of the nominal contact area, the local gap is not greater than 1mm.
4. Steel rail joint can be made into a direct head, can also be made into a 45 ° angle oblique joint. Oblique joint can make the wheel in the joint smooth transition, the general joint gap is 1 ~ 2mm. in cold areas in winter construction or installation when the temperature is lower than the temperature of perennial use, and the difference in more than 20 ℃, should consider the temperature gap, generally 4 ~ 6 mm. joint two rail joints should be staggered more than 500mm.
5. The end of the track is equipped with termination baffle to prevent the crane from both ends of the track.
6.  The deviation of the actual centerline of the track from the geometric centerline of the track should not be greater than 3mm, and the allowable deviation of the gauge of the overhead crane is ±5mm; the longitudinal inclination of the track is 1/1500;
7. The allowable deviation of the relative elevation of the two tracks is 10mm.
