Send InquiryAn single girder hoist overhead crane also called a bridge crane, or EOT crane. LD single girder overhead crane with hoist is a type of traditional overhead crane which is widely used in industries. It has the advantage of cheap price, mature technology, long working life, etc. This crane is widely used to hoist goods at factories, warehouses, stock ground, and other occasions, and is prohibited from working in a flammable, explosive, and corrosive environment.
The capacity is from 5 tons to 32 tons. The span is 7.5~31.5m. The lifting height is 6~30 meters. This crane's Standard lifting& traveling speed is single speed, and also can be designed with double speed. The working temperature is generally -20°C to 40°C. It is forbidden to work in an environment with combustible, explosive, or corrosive media.

A hoist overhead crane consists of 1 main girder, two end carriages, 1 electric hoist, an electric device, etc. It mainly has three parts: the mechanism part, (metal structure and crane traveling parts), the electric hoist (lifting mechanism), and the electrical equipment (safe protection, and operation).
The electric hoist is usually CD MD electric wire rope hoist, which also can be replaced by an electric chain hoist. For there are different standard power supplies in different countries, the crane can be designed according to the power supply in the client’s workshop, eg: China's standard power is 380 voltage 50Hz 3phase. (Single phase is not available.) There are some necessary protecting devices on LD single girder overhead crane, eg: lifting & traveling limit switch, overload limiter, anti-collision buffers, etc. The lifting limit switch is for lifting protection, preventing the hook from knocking on the hoist. The traveling limit switch is from the crane traveling protecting, preventing the crane from knocking the rail end.
Main beam: The main girder is made of a U-shaped groove pressed by a steel plate and welded with I-beam to form a box-type solid web beam. The material is Q235B carbon structural steel, strong and elegant, and easy to maintain.
End girder: The end girder is welded with rectangular tubes, material Q235B or Q345B(optional).
Crane wheel: Use LD single girder special wheel, light, and strong versatility.
Traveling motor: Crane traveling uses the respective drive, QS trinity-drive system, or traditional drive by motor and reducer.
Electrical cabinet: Individual electric cabinet for crane traveling mechanism and lifting mechanism.
Electric hoist:First, please confirm the range of weight of the material the crane is required to lift. It’d be best if a client can elaborate on the majority of weight and frequency of lifting. Example below:
Client A wants to purchase an overhead crane to lift a steel plate, the steel plate weighs 1 ton, 2 tons, 3 tons, and 3.2 tons, then the lifting capacity required is 3.2ton. This a reminder that the working frequency and load-up condition also influence the choice of overhead crane. LD single girder hoist overhead crane’s working classification is ISO M3 or M4, which can meet most basic lifting requirements. But if you need a crane to lift mostly 3-ton material frequently, we will recommend you increase the rated capacity to 5 tons, to avoid overuse.
Second, it’s the lifting height. Usually, it depends on the clear height of the workshop and the height of the bracket (for steel structure workshop) or column (for cement concrete building). If there is a height limit in your building, we can choose a low-headroom type electric hoist for you according to the working condition and your request.
Third, let’s talk about span. Span is the distance between two crane rail centers, usually less than 1-1.5m than the inside width of the building. You can install an LD single girder hoist overhead crane on the existing bracket or column in the building. If the building doesn’t have an existing bracket or column, or can’t support the whole overhead crane load, an extra steel column and rail support beam (ie. runway beam or bearing beam) for the overhead crane are needed.
Next is speed. We have single-speed, and double speed also can design non-standard speeds. If you don’t confirm how to choose, we can help you choose a suitable speed according to the working condition. Until this step, a basic overhead crane solution can be confirmed. If you also need a bus bar system, crane rail, and crane rail support beam please provide the traveling length of the overhead crane.
