What is the Low Headroom?

For a bridge crane, headroom refers to the space from the hoist suspension point to the fully raised hook saddle. (For a chain hoist with hook mount, the headroom dimension is the distance between the saddle of the top hook and the saddle of the fully raised bottom hook.

As you can see from the picture, the headroom here is the space between where the trolley rides on the beam to the load point on the hook. Always remember that headroom is measured with the load chain in its uppermost position as seen here.
